About

Arctic Holiday – a new face on the competitive Nordic getaway scene – was ready to break the ice and make their  presence known. They commissioned me to kick-start their online marketng with a website that wows visitors with the stunning natural beauty on offer, allows them to easily book a variety of tours and experiences, and converts them to avid Arctic travellers.

I created a site focused on capturing the hearts (and diaries) of visitors with alluring landscapes and refreshing action shots to tempt tired souls. As only set-date tours were initially on offer, I set up a simple tour-booking process with an event-booking plugin, for a seamless user experience which ensures the awesome imagery remains the star of the show.

Arctic Holiday - sketch of booking process

Each tour had its own set of available dates, so I created an easy way for the site administrator to choose how to display these: as either a calendar or list. It was important to keep the experience simple:

  1. A user clicks the Book Tour Now button to jump straight to the booking area.
  2. They choose a date from either a calendar or list, then click Book.
  3. The booking form itself pops up as a modal over the page, to keep the content clean.
  4. For those with pre-booking queries, there is also a Tour Enquiry button which launches its own modal.
